Global Tijaniyya Leaders Storm Villa to Pray for Tinubu and Honor Late Sheikh Bauchi

A high-level international delegation representing the Supreme Council of Tijaniyya Worldwide has visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja to deliver condolences following the passing of revered Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.

The global delegation, comprising prominent religious leaders from Nigeria, Algeria, and Senegal, represents more than 400 million members of the Tijaniyya movement across the world. The delegation also included representatives from the Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Foundation, led by Khalifa Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

Delivering the condolence message, the Khalifa of Tijaniyya in Algeria, Sheikh Ali Bin Arabi, highlighted the long-standing spiritual, social, and economic bonds connecting West and North Africa. He pledged that the council will continue praying for sustained unity and spiritual harmony, while offering special prayers for peace, national stability, and the health of President Tinubu.

Receiving the delegation, President Tinubu expressed gratitude for the visit and paid warm tribute to the late Islamic icon, describing Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as a beloved father and remarkable leader whose spiritual impact transcended national borders. The president also commended the Tijaniyya movement for its ongoing commitment to spiritual development, social cohesion, and the promotion of Islamic values across Africa and globally.

Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, who was widely recognized as one of Nigeria’s most influential Islamic clerics and a pillar of the Tijaniyya movement, passed away at the age of 98, leaving behind a legacy of Islamic scholarship and community leadership.
