Gusau Campaign Shuts Down Shinkafi’s ADC Candidacy Claims, Reaffirms Ex-Deputy Governor as Authentic Flagbearer

The Mahdi Aliyu Gusau Campaign Organisation has dismissed reports linking Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship ticket, maintaining that former Zamfara State Deputy Governor Mahdi Aliyu Gusau remains the party’s sole and legitimate candidate.

In an official statement addressing rising political speculation, the campaign council clarified that Shinkafi has neither relinquished his membership in the All Progressives Congress (APC) nor fulfilled the constitutional processes required to represent the ADC in any electoral capacity.

The campaign described claims projecting Shinkafi as an ADC candidate as misleading maneuvers orchestrated by political opponents to trigger internal friction, confuse party faithful, and distract voters across Zamfara State.

Setting the record straight, the organisation noted that Mahdi Gusau secured the ADC governorship ticket through a valid and transparent primary election overseen by party leadership and electoral monitors. The campaign maintained that the party’s ticket remains settled and is not open to unauthorized substitutions or backdoor arrangements.

Urging party loyalists to ignore distracting narratives, the Gusau campaign called on residents and supporters across the state to stay united and focus their energy on grassroots mobilization ahead of the general elections.
