INEC Excludes Professor Pantami from Gombe Governorship Race

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has removed Professor Isa Ali Pantami from its list of candidates for the upcoming Gombe State governorship election. His name was not included in the final list released by INEC for the 2027 election.

The list was made public on Saturday, and checks at the INEC office in Gombe confirmed that Pantami was absent from the candidates’ roster. He was backed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Nyesom Wike.

Attempts to get comments from the PDP state chapter and Pantami’s campaign team were unsuccessful, as no officials were available to provide a statement at the time of the report.
