Lagos Governor Calls for Unity Among APC Leaders Ahead of 2027 Elections

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to unite as they prepare for the 2027 elections. He made this appeal during a retreat for the PBAT-KOH Campaign Council in Lagos on Monday.

The retreat aimed to enhance teamwork and planning among party members. Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of putting aside personal ambitions and focusing on the party’s collective goals, including the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.

He stated that the party’s strength lies in its unity and ability to communicate its achievements effectively to the public. Sanwo-Olu shared an example of a party member who remained loyal to the APC despite losing a previous election, which ultimately led to a ministerial appointment.

Sanwo-Olu encouraged participants to act as advocates in their communities, spreading the party’s message beyond the retreat. He highlighted the need to showcase the administration’s achievements and policies to gain support from both party members and the general public.

Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat also spoke at the retreat, urging leaders to recognize their political strength and the opportunities the APC has provided. He encouraged participants to build strong relationships and take pride in their party.

Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Director-General of the campaign council, stressed that unity is essential for success. He noted that while differing opinions are natural, commitment to a common goal is crucial for effective campaigning.

The retreat gathered APC leaders to discuss strategies for mobilizing support for Tinubu and other party candidates as the 2027 elections approach.
