The campaign for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Abia South, Dr. Kasarachi Enyinna Michael, is gaining momentum. Chief Emperor Ogbonna, the spokesman for Michael’s campaign, emphasized the importance of having party members in the Senate and House of Representatives to support presidential candidate Peter Obi if he wins the election.
Ogbonna highlighted that Michael represents a new direction for Abia South. He pointed out that Michael is a local resident who has invested in the area, which he believes will help ensure that Obi’s policies are supported at the national level.
During a recent speech, Ogbonna compared Obi’s popularity to that of a famous football player, stating, “Peter Obi is the Ronaldo of Nigerian politics today.” He warned that without NDC members in key government positions, Obi might struggle to implement his reforms.
Ogbonna also criticized the long-standing political presence of Enyinnaya Abaribe, who has held various positions in the government for over 20 years. He argued that it is time for change and that Michael, who comes from Ogwe in Ukwa West, is the right candidate for the job.
Michael is described as approachable and in tune with the community’s needs. Ogbonna noted that Michael has a background in business and has been actively involved in promoting the welfare of Aba, making him a familiar face in the area.
In conclusion, Ogbonna urged voters in Abia South to support Michael and the NDC to ensure that if Obi becomes president, there will be a strong team in place to help implement necessary reforms for the country.
