Nigeria Seeks Spanish Investment to Boost Blue Economy at Seafood Exhibition
Nigeria is looking to increase Spanish investment to develop its blue economy. The Nigerian Ambassador to Spain, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, promoted this goal at the 27th International Frozen Seafood Exhibition, known as CONXEMAR 2026, held in Vigo, Galicia, Spain.
During the event, which took place at the IFEVI Exhibition Centre, Ikpeazu engaged with various stakeholders, including officials from CONXEMAR and representatives from companies involved in packaging, marine services, and fisheries. These discussions are part of the Nigerian Embassy’s efforts to showcase investment opportunities in Nigeria’s blue economy.
The opening ceremony attracted notable attendees, including the President of the Xunta de Galicia, senior officials from the Spanish Government, and leaders from the fisheries and aquaculture sectors. CONXEMAR 2026 is a key global trade fair focused on the frozen seafood industry.
The exhibition serves as a platform for businesses to explore partnerships and investment opportunities across the fisheries and marine sectors. The Nigerian Embassy’s discussions with Spanish companies aim to foster collaboration in areas such as fisheries, aquaculture, and packaging.
Through these efforts, the Embassy hopes to strengthen economic ties between Nigeria and Spain. This initiative is designed to leverage Spanish expertise and investment to support the growth of Nigeria’s marine and fisheries industries.
