Oyo Governor Accuses Federal Government of Claiming State Projects

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has urged the federal government to stop claiming credit for the Circular Road project in the state. He made this statement on his campaign social media account after seeing an advertisement listing the road as a federal project.

The Circular Road, which stretches 110 kilometers, is entirely funded and executed by the Oyo State Government, according to Makinde. He emphasized that there has been no federal support for this project.

In his post, Makinde expressed frustration over the federal government labeling the project as “state-led” in a recent newspaper article. He stated, “The Federal Government needs to stop claiming the project as one of its own achievements.”

Makinde also compared this situation to the federal government’s attempts to take credit for the upgrade of the Ibadan Airport, which he claims is also fully managed by the Oyo State Government.

He criticized the federal government for what he called a pattern of taking credit for state projects. Many commenters on social media agreed with the governor’s stance, expressing their discontent with the federal government’s claims.
