Oyo State Opens Online Registration for 2025/2026 Bursary Awards

The Oyo State Government has started online registration for the 2025/2026 General Bursary Awards. This program is aimed at final-year students from Oyo State who are studying in public higher education institutions across Nigeria.

Registration began on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, and will close on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. West Africa time. Eligible students can apply through the official bursary portal at bursary.oyostate.gov.ng/2026/.

The bursary is intended to help students financially as they finish their studies. It is available to university undergraduates, Higher National Diploma (HND) students, and those in National Certificate in Education (NCE) programs, as well as clinical, aviation, and maritime courses. However, final-year law students are not eligible for this bursary.

To qualify, applicants must be Oyo State indigenes, enrolled in a public tertiary institution in Nigeria, and must not be studying part-time or overseas. Students from private institutions cannot apply.

Applicants need to prepare several documents for registration, including:

• Admission Letter
• Local Government Identification Letter
• Students’ Registration/Course Form (signed by the Head of Department)
• Recent passport photograph
• Proof of membership in the Federation of Oyo State Student Union (FOSSU)
• Valid bank account details

Students are encouraged to ensure that all information provided is accurate. The Scholarship Board has stated that late applications will not be accepted after the deadline.

To apply, students should visit the official website, gather the necessary documents, fill out the online form, upload their files, and save their application confirmation and reference number for future reference.
