Students Praise Umahi and Tinubu for Improving Nigeria’s Road Infrastructure

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has praised the Minister of Works, David Umahi, and President Bola Tinubu for their work on modern road infrastructure in Nigeria. The commendation came after NANS President, Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, led a group to inspect federal road projects in Ondo State on Saturday.

The inspected roads included the Owo-Benin Road, the Akure-Owo Road, and the Ilesa Road. NANS noted that these routes are vital for the safety and daily commutes of students attending institutions like Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, and the Federal University of Technology, Akure.

Afeez emphasized the importance of the Ilesa Road for students and commuters traveling within the South-West region. He stated that the condition of this road is a significant concern for students and their families.

The tour was part of NANS’s initiative to go beyond simply asking for better roads. The group aims to assess ongoing federal projects, recognize successful efforts, and highlight areas needing improvement. Afeez referred to Umahi as an “infrastructure bulldozer” for his active role in enhancing road infrastructure.

He expressed gratitude towards both Umahi and Tinubu for their dedication to improving infrastructure and addressing the needs of Nigerian students. Afeez reiterated NANS’s commitment to working constructively to support the interests of students across the country.
