APC Beats INEC Deadline as Party Successfully Uploads 27 Governorship Candidates and Running Mates to Official Portal

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a decisive step in its electoral preparations after completing the submission of its 27 governorship candidates and their respective running mates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) candidate portal ahead of the statutory deadline.

The electronic filing was finalized through the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP) by the party’s ICT unit and national administrative staff operating from the APC National Secretariat in Abuja. The 27 candidate packages cover every state scheduled to participate in the general governorship election cycle, while excluding the eight states operating on off-cycle election calendars.

Party officials revealed that the submission followed days of thorough internal screening to ensure all submitted academic credentials, tax clearance certificates, and nomination forms complied fully with the Electoral Act and INEC regulations. Unlike previous electoral cycles where technical issues or late submissions created last-minute panic, the ruling party executed its uploads smoothly well before the portal’s scheduled closure.

Speaking on the milestone, senior party executives highlighted that beating the submission cutoff reflects the administrative cohesion and operational discipline currently driving the party’s national structure.

“We have successfully uploaded the complete details of all our 27 governorship standard-bearers along with their running mates without experiencing any technical hiccups on the INEC portal,” a senior APC administrative official stated. “This early completion underscores our administrative readiness and respect for the electoral timetable.
