The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State is set to start its campaign for the 2027 elections on November 23. The campaign will focus on reaching out to voters in all 105 wards across the state.
The party announced its plans in a timetable released to journalists. This includes a series of events leading up to the campaign launch. Pre-campaign activities will begin with meetings of the State Working Committee from October 26 to 28. Following that, there will be a three-day fasting, prayer, and Solemn Assembly from November 5 to 7, and a dedication and thanksgiving service on November 8.
The State Campaign Council will be inaugurated on November 9. Campaign activities in the senatorial districts will kick off on November 17, 19, and 21. The PDP aims to engage communities and discuss important issues affecting the people, focusing on development and welfare rather than personal attacks.
The party’s leadership has emphasized the importance of a peaceful campaign. They have urged candidates and supporters to respect others in the political process and to engage in constructive discussions. The PDP wants the 2027 elections to be an opportunity for voters to hear from candidates, ask questions, and make informed choices.
