Delta Governor Urges APC Members to Engage Voters Ahead of 2027 Elections

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council to actively engage with voters as the 2027 general elections approach. He made this call during the inauguration of the campaign council in Asaba, where he introduced the theme “MORE Plus” for his re-election campaign.

Oborevwori emphasized the importance of reaching out to everyday citizens, including market women, youths, and farmers, through direct interactions rather than just rallies. He encouraged local campaign coordinators to strengthen their efforts and ensure the party’s message is communicated effectively at every polling unit.

The governor highlighted the need for the APC to showcase its achievements in government, particularly through his administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda, which focuses on infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment. He stated, “Our achievements must speak for us, but we must also be prepared to explain them convincingly.” He assured citizens that political activities would not distract his administration from its commitments.

During the event, Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme praised Oborevwori for aligning the state with the federal government and called on party members to promote President Bola Tinubu’s accomplishments in various sectors, including education and security.

Minister Festus Keyamo defended Tinubu’s economic reforms, stating that while they may cause short-term difficulties, they are necessary for long-term stability. Delta APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, expressed confidence in the party’s readiness for the upcoming elections.

Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, representing Delta North, urged the campaign council to demonstrate the party’s strength and directly reach out to voters. Other party leaders echoed the importance of mobilizing support and ensuring a strong electoral performance.
