Ex-Prince Andrew Challenges Police Search Warrants Linked to Epstein Case

Former Prince Andrew, now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, is fighting a legal battle in the High Court to overturn search warrants obtained by police before his arrest earlier this year. The court confirmed that a private hearing will take place on Thursday.

Andrew, 66, was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct related to his connections with the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender. He has denied any wrongdoing.

The police conducted searches of Andrew’s homes on royal estates as part of their investigation. This arrest was notable as it marked a significant moment in modern British royal history, occurring on Andrew’s birthday.

In 2025, he lost all his royal titles and was forced out of his former residence by his brother, King Charles III. Recent reports suggested that Andrew had shared potentially confidential documents with Epstein during his time as a trade envoy, including information about investment opportunities and details from his official visits to Asia.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has called for Andrew to be removed from the line of royal succession, describing his behavior as “deplorable.” His comments came after Australia and New Zealand expressed support for this removal.
