Faleke Drops ₦100m for Tinubu’s Nomination Forms; President Leads the Charge as APC Primary Season Kicks Off in Abuja
The political atmosphere in Abuja reached a fever pitch on Tuesday as the “Renewed Hope” machinery shifted from governance to active campaigning. In a move that surprised few but energized many, Hon. James Faleke led a massive convoy of supporters to the APC National Secretariat to pick up the ₦100 million presidential nomination and expression of interest forms for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The collection of the forms serves as the definitive signal that the President is seeking a second term to consolidate his administration’s economic and structural reforms. Faleke, a longtime political confidant of the President, described the purchase as a “debt of service” to Nigerians. “We are here because the work isn’t finished,” Faleke told reporters while clutching the high-value documents. “From the 6,000MW power milestone to the stabilization of our reserves, the President has shown that the ‘digital-age’ transformation of Nigeria is possible. This form is the key to finishing that job.”
The ₦100 million price tag a figure that has defined the “technical trenches” of modern Nigerian politics was reportedly bankrolled by a coalition of support groups who insisted on funding the President’s bid themselves. The APC’s National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, who formally presented the forms, noted that the party’s secretariat is now a beehive of activity as other aspirants across various offices scramble to beat the May 30 deadline for the conclusion of primaries.
While the President remains focused on official duties in the Villa, the “Faleke-led” action has effectively fired the starting gun for the 2027 electoral cycle. With the presidential poll now less than nine months away, political analysts suggest that Tinubu’s early entry is a strategic “power play” designed to project strength and unity within the ruling party before the opposition can finalize their own “mega-coalition” candidate.
As the APC prepares for its upcoming delegates’ congress, the message from the “Jagaban” camp is clear: they are running on a scorecard of visible results, and they intend to win. For now, the forms are in hand, the fee is paid, and the countdown to January 16, 2027, has officially begun.
