Family Seeks Help to Bring Home British Woman and Unborn Baby Who Died in Nigeria

A 40-year-old British woman, Claire Chadwick, has died in Nigeria along with her unborn baby. She was 37 weeks pregnant when she developed sepsis and septic shock after her baby girl died in the womb.

Claire had moved to Nigeria to be with her husband, Ibrahim, and was excited to start a new life with him. She was known for her social media presence, sharing videos about her relationship, religious beliefs, and food challenges on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

Her death has left her family devastated. Her sister, Shannon, shared that Claire is survived by her 19-year-old son in Wales, her husband, and other relatives. Shannon described her sister as a funny and strong-minded woman who lived life on her own terms.

The family has started a GoFundMe campaign aiming to raise £10,000 to bring Claire and her unborn daughter back to the UK for burial. Shannon explained that they want to ensure both can be laid to rest with dignity, surrounded by their loved ones.

The fundraiser has received significant support, which Shannon described as overwhelming. She also thanked REST, a charity that helps families dealing with sudden or tragic deaths abroad. Friends and well-wishers have shared tributes, remembering Claire as kind, caring, and cheerful.

The family hopes to gather enough funds to honor Claire and her baby by bringing them back home.
