Selma Blair Charged with Assault Following Flight Incident

Actress Selma Blair was charged with assault on Monday after an incident on a flight from Los Angeles to New York City. Court documents reveal that the altercation happened on a Delta Air Lines flight that landed at John F. Kennedy Airport late Sunday.

Reports indicate that Blair, known for her roles in “Legally Blonde” and “Cruel Intentions,” allegedly punched one flight attendant and bit another. After the flight, she reportedly assaulted a police officer and a nurse while being taken to the hospital. Blair was charged with two counts of second-degree assault in a New York state court.

The 54-year-old actress pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on bail. Her next court appearance is set for January 19. Additionally, the FBI issued a summons for her related to the incidents on the plane.

A representative for Blair stated that she experienced a medical emergency that contributed to her behavior. They noted that she received immediate medical attention upon landing and is currently in stable condition.

Delta Air Lines emphasized its strict policy against unruly behavior, stating that the safety of customers and crew is their top priority. This is not the first time Blair has faced issues on a flight; in 2016, she was removed from a plane on a stretcher after an outburst linked to mixing alcohol with medication.
