“Stop the Promises and Show Us Results!” – CAN Demands Action on Hardship as Muslims Celebrate Eid-el-Maulud

As Muslims across the nation mark the celebration of Eid-el-Maulud, the Christian Association of Nigeria has called on the Federal Government and leaders at all levels to move past political promises and deliver tangible relief to citizens facing economic hardship.

In a goodwill message signed by CAN President Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the Christian leadership stated that Nigerians are increasingly weary of unfulfilled assurances while grappling with rising living costs and ongoing security concerns. Okoh stressed that genuine governance is defined by measurable outcomes that directly improve the living conditions of everyday households.

The CAN leader highlighted that the commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad offers a meaningful opportunity for leaders and citizens to reflect on moral values such as justice, honesty, and empathy. The association urged public officials to reflect these virtues by implementing policies that protect vulnerable populations and tackle insecurity across rural and urban communities.

Addressing political dynamics, Archbishop Okoh cautioned political figures against weaponizing faith or ethnicity to divide the country for campaign advantage. CAN urged both Christians and Muslims to resist divisive rhetoric, emphasizing that political seasons pass, but national unity and peaceful coexistence must endure.
